Rock Solid is a growing group of young people who enjoy spending time together so if any of this sounds appealing to you and you would like to get involved, please get in touch

Exult

Exult is a new contemporary praise and worship night being trialled here at St Ives Methodist Church, which we are aiming to host bi-monthly. Come down to Exult if you are looking for a more contemporary soundtrack to your services, led by our own SIMC Worship band and well-attended by our youth and young adults. We often finish the night with fellowship and pizza. Sunday nights bi-monthly from 6pm at St Ives Methodist Church- watch this space for details about the next Exult service.

Midweek holy COMMUNION

A communion service takes place around once a month on a Sunday morning. A Communion service is the name we give to the sharing of bread and wine. In some churches this may be called a Eucharist or Sacrament service.

Led by Rev H. Walker, a short, simple service of Holy Communion is usually held on the 3rd Thursday of the month at 11.30am in the Doctor’s Room. The next HC service will be Thursday 16th April. All are welcome. If you would like further information, please contact us by clicking here.

The bread and wine are offered to anyone who considers themselves to be a follower of Jesus.

This is a time when we remember the sacrifice Jesus made for us all by dying on the cross. We eat a piece of bread and drink some wine in remembrance of Jesus as we are instructed to do in the words of Jesus as he ate his last meal with the disciples.

While they were eating, Jesus took bread, gave thanks and broke it, and gave it to his disciples, saying, “Take and eat; this is my body.” Then he took the cup, gave thanks and offered it to them, saying, “Drink from it, all of you. This is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins.”

Matthew Chapter 26, verses 26-29 (NIV)

You are welcome to remain seated if you would rather not receive bread and wine.

It is our usual custom for bread and wine to be distributed at the front of the church and those wishing to take part come to the front in turn. You are welcome to remain seated if you would rather not receive bread and wine.
The bread and wine are offered freely to anyone who considers themselves to be a follower of Jesus. You do not need to be a member of our church, or any other, to receive the sacraments.
